Original Mary and Andie

Andie fastened the Head Girl badge on her robes and slipped out of the common room. Her being Head Girl just alienated her from her house further and sometimes she really hated being a Slytherin. Moving silently through the castle, she approached the spot where she was meeting her friend, Mary.

Mary hated having to sneak around all of the time to meet with her friend, Andie. Yet she understood that it wasn't her friends fault that her family hated blood lines that weren't pure. She held the map Sirius lent her in her hands and leaned against the wall, watching as Andie's name traveled across the paper. She smiled as the footsteps got closer, and when they were close enough she spoke without looking up. "You know, you're lucky I'm able to function on little to no sleep." She teased as she muttered the words to make the map disappear and put it in her cloak pocket. She looked up and smiled. "How's being head girl treating you?"

Andie jumped. "Merlin's beard, I didn't expect you to be here already." She smiled, linking her arm with Mary's. "It's going good. Trying to find a time I can meet up with the Head Boy and discuss schedules that won't interfere with Quidditch." She didn't play the sport--her fear of heights was too severe--but she could understand needing to practice.

Mary snickered. "I got bored, and Sirius lent me his map." She shrugged as she happily linked arms with Andie and walked. She listened and nodded. "Isn't he head boy, and quidditch captain? I can't believe that work load that boy has." She shuttered scrunching up her nose. "I'm worried I won't be able to focus on my studies being a turor this year. I couldn't imagine doing all what he does." She muttered. "I'm glad it's going well for you though. You deserved this."

Andie smiled. That map was probably the worst kept secret amongst the prefects. They all knew how the Marauders got away from teachers. And as long as Andie didn't catch her cousin doing anything against the rules, she didn't care either way. "He is. I can't believe his work load either. He's going to go insane." She patted Mary's hand. "You'll be great," she said. "You can definitely do it." She snorted. "Now if only I could find a boyfriend that my parents would approve of."

Mary laughed lightly. "He is and I can't wait for that melt down. Maybe he'll confess his undying love for you finally." She teased as she walked with Andie down the hall. This was her favorite time of the week. The time she got to spend with Andie in the halls. She didn't have to fend off guys, and could just talk to one of her best friends. "I have no doubt I'll help people it's just I'm worried about keeping up with my work while having 3 people to tutor." She groaned tilting her head back. "Good luck with that. I'd have a better chance of finding someone who isn't just in it for sex then you do. Your parents are the worst."

Andie blushed and rolled her eyes. "He's not in love with me. We barely talk and when we do its about Head Girl and Boy duties." She sighed and and squeezed Mary's hand. "You'll find someone you really like helping, and you'll find someone who loves you for you." She huffed. "I know my parents on the worst."

It was Mary's turn to roll her eyes. "I still say he likes you. He stares at you an awful lot." She shrugged. Mary actually knew better. It wasn't a huge secret that Ted like Andie. Anyone in her year and the years above that Ted fancied the girl, but Andie just wouldn't listen. "I sure hope so, cause I have a Slytherin already and he's a pain in my perfect little ass." She sighed. "And as far as romance goes I'm not even interested in anything. Maybe a song every now and then." It was her turn to squeeze Andie's hand. "You'll be okay love. As long as you stick to the plan to move in with me when I grauaduate next year you'll be okay." She reassured her friend.

She shrugged. "He doesn't like me. He's probably mildly envious that I don't have as much on my plate." Ted Tonks didn't like her. He'd be insane to like her. Everyone knew how her parents felt about muggleborns. Anyone who got near enough to Andie to be her friend was pretty well doomed to be at the mercy of her parents. And she didn't want that for the guy she fancied. "If you say so, love." She smiled and bumped her hip against Mary's. "I'm sticking to the plan if you're sticking to the plan."

Mary was on her way back from tutoring the handsome 7th year and all she could think about was sitting on his lap. Preferably naked. She was walking to her meeting spot with Andie, and leaned against the wall. She sure couldn't wait to tell her friend all about her first tutoring session.

Andie silently slid through the halls on cloud nine. The more she talked to Ted, the more it seemed like he wasn't interested in anybody. Maybe, just maybe, she had more than a snowball's chance in hell. When she spotted her friend, she smiled and leaned against the wall next to her. "Well? How did it go?"

Mary looked at Andie. "You look happier than usual." She pointed out as she smiled at her friend. A small smirk took over her face. "It went well." She mumbled. She was still really amused by the whole situation. "He's older, and I caught him checking me out, so this is going to be more fun than anything for me." She admitted.

Andie hummed. "No more than usual. Worked on the timetable for the prefect schedules." She left out that she was patrolling with Ted on Thursday. "Oh? What's his name? What's he like?" she asked. "And clearly you're attracted to him because your lipstick is smeared, hon."

"With Tonks!?" She grinned wriggling her brows. "Amos Diggory. You know, Tonks' best mate. He's a little shit but you know how I am. I enjoy a challenge." She laughed. She rolled her eyes. "I kissed his cheeks to mess with him, but I am attracted to him." she shrugged. "I work with him again on Thursday."

"Yes with Ted." She sighed and leaned against the wall. "And you just lost me a bet. Week's worth of patrols, here I come." She laughed slightly. "You're cruel, you know that right? And that's perfect. Callaghan got detention and I'm covering for him."

Mary grinned. "Ready to admit you like him?" She smiled nudging Andie with her elbow. Mary laughed lightly. "I'm sorry! Blame Slughorn, not me." She defended amused. "I know, but it's fun. I'm determined to make him blush as much as I can." She grinned. "Of course he did. Callaghan is a moron."

She rolled her eyes. "I don't like him like you think I do," she said, huffing. "He's a good guy, but that's about it." She elbowed Mary back, huffing. "Shouldn't have made the bet..." She laughed delightedly. "You're going to make that poor boy fall in love with you." She shrugged. "He really is. But he's in your house, dear. You're the one who has to put up with him on a daily basis."

"Sureeee." Mary sang as she rolled her eyes. "You're not convincing me otherwise. I'm still sticking to you fancy him." She shrugged and she rummaged through her bag. "Shouldn't have." She agreed. A small smirk formed on her face. "No. I doubt that, but I'll have him in a broom closet in no time." She mused as she pulled out her book. "Don't remind me. I hate that bloke. Nothing good ever comes from being around him."

"I don't fancy him. How was I to know that my best friend is tutoring my coworker's best friend?" she fake grumbled as she watched Mary rummage through her bag. "You're tutoring him in Potions right? Yeah, you'll have him as putty in your hands in no time." She sniggered. "He's an idiot, that's for sure."

"Uh-hu. We'll see." She mumbled. "Hey, don't make bets Tori's not 100% sure you'll win. That's my take on it." She added in as she plucked out her quill and scribbled down a session for Thursday. "Yep. He's terrible at it apparently. I'll see for myself next session."
She snorted. "That's the plan." She grinned as she closed her book. She looked to Andie. "Anything else happen with Tonks I should know about?"

Andie snorted. "It's just a weeks worth of patrols. Plus it means..." It meant she got to see him more often then week, dropping off patrol reports. Hopefully hang out with him. "Nothing, it means nothing." She laughed. "You forget I'm in that class with Amos Diggory. He's shit at potions." She shook her head. "Nope, nothing."

Mary waited for Andie to finish for her sentence, brows raised. Part of her wanted to hear she liked Ted so she could start scheming date ideas. Mary had loads of them but had no one to go on the dates with. "It means something." She muttered under he breath. She groaned. "He's really that bad? Merlin this is going to be more difficult than I thought.." She sighed. Mary's eyes narrowed. "Lies."

She shook her head and frowned. "It means nothing. Trust me. Just me being stupid." She wanted to see that grin on Ted's face again, the one where she agreed to go on rounds with him. "He's that bad," she said. "You're in for a hell of a ride." She adopted an innocent face. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"You're a bad liar you know that." Mary muttered as she crossed her arms over her chest. She grumbled under her breath. "Fuck. I just hoped he was bad not horrible." She whined. "And as long as I get to watch him fumble and blush because of me then I guess it won't be to bad." She sighed trying to convince herself more than Andie. Mary rolled her eyes. "Bullshit."

"I'm not a bad liar," she muttered, folding her arms. "You're just making assumptions over stupid shit." She reached over and patted Mary's shoulder. "You're a good tutor. If anyone can get Amos Diggory to be decent at potions, it's you." She shrugged. "I went to the office, I worked on schedules, he worked on Quidditch stuff, and we talked about you and Amos. That's it."
